I don’t know why I’m always amazed when the waves come. You know what I’m talking about… the waves that come to knock you down. To destroy you. To lie to you. The waves that force you to dig deep and find the warrior inside.
So, we dig deep.
We dig deep to not shed another tear in front of your kids because they have seen enough.
We dig deep to keep putting those pieces back together.
We dig deep to not let the fear take over – the fear that tells us we will never be good enough or that we will be stuck feeling like this forever.
We dig deep to take that next step towards civility and action.
We dig deep to make sure we don’t drown under the wave that crashes over us from seemingly nowhere.
We dig those roots so deep into Jesus at the foot of the cross becuase He’s the ONLY way to find hope again. He’s the only way to stand tall in the brokenness, in the healing.
We dig deep so we can look in the mirror and say “yes, you are worth this fight.”
The battle wages all around us as we dig deep. But God will restore it all. He is so good, and even though there are days where the end doesn’t seem like it’s in sight, He is right here. We may feel like we are all alone, but He is the strength of my sould and He is defending me. He is holding me up when I feel like I am going to crash down. He catches my tears and I silently shed them, and he allows me to grieve. but He doesn’t allow me to stay there because He is not finished. His plan is so much bigger than anything I could ever imagine.
Joel 2:25 “God can restore what is broken and change it into something amazing. All you need is faith.” There are times my faith falters, but I will continue to dig deep on my knees, fighting those waves that come.
What waves are you fighting? How can I be praying for you?
